How It Works: Becoming a Substitute Teacher or Other School Staff Member

1. Apply Online
   • Start by completing our online application form (see CTA below).
   • You’ll need to provide your transcripts (for substitute teachers and interim administrators), government ID, and any teaching certifications you hold.
2. Complete Background Check
   • All applicants are required to pass a background screening to ensure a safe learning environment for students.
3. Attend Orientation (Optional)
   • We provide an optional orientation session to introduce you to the schools and the tools you’ll need for success in the classroom.
4. Choose Your Assignments
   • Set your availability and preferences (grade levels, subjects, specific schools).
   • Receive assignment notifications through our online portal or by phone and accept those that fit your schedule.
5. Start Working and Get Paid

What You Need to Apply

• Substitute teachers must have at least 60 college credit hours or a valid teaching certificate.
• All interim administrators must have a valid Michigan Administrator Certification.
